Samburu Child Support Foundation was officially established in 2006, but before that year activities had already started due to personal initiatives laid out by Rudolf van den Boogaard. Rudolf lived in Northern Kenya since 1983 and worked in various capacities as a livelihood expert. By living in rural Africa, the plight of living conditions of children and youth and especially their future perspectives became his concern and took the initiative to personally fund the education of needy children at secondary schools. As it was his ambition to assist as many youths as possible he got backing from his friends abroad and his family and volunteers in the Netherlands. Since the early days and since the establishment of the foundation scores of youths have benefitted from the SCS programme and found a positive direction towards a future perspective.
